Sample of projects in progress or planning stages:
- Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands in the Mojave Desert and Carrizo Plain:
We have just been awarded a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) to collect rare plant and vegetation data on BLM lands in the Mojave Desert and Carrizo Plain. If you live in or love to visit either of those areas we will be concentrating much of our efforts there this spring and fall. If you would like to be part of that effort please send an email to treasurehunt cnps.org.
- San Diego Chapter Pilot Project:
Starting this spring the San Diego Chapter will conduct a range-wide survey to update information about the endangered San Diego thornmint (Acanthomintha illicifolia). Details of this project are available on page 6 of the San Diego Chapter’s October 2009 newsletter. For more information please contact Dave Fleitner, president cnpssd.org
- San Luis Obispo Chapter rare plant project: contact David Chipping at dchippin
